Stories of Shetland…

When I think about the kind of knitwear that really earns its place in a wardrobe and that stands the test of time, I always come back to Shetland wool. It has an honest, earthy and slightly rugged charm that makes it as fitting on a country walk as it is tucked under a tweed jacket in meetings or at the pub.

Our Shetland jumpers are made using a pure Shetland wool yarn spun by one of Scotland’s oldest independent spinning mills. They’ve been perfecting Shetland yarn since the late 1700s in Aberdeenshire using a woollen spinning method that keeps the natural texture of the fibre, giving our Shetland jumpers that soft, slightly brushed handle and depth of colour that we love. Once the yarn is spun, it travels south to Hawick, where it is knitted into the finished jumpers in carefully developed hues.

If you are looking for a jumper that feels like home - that softens, shapes, and settles into your wardrobe over the years - our Shetland range might be for you.

Come and see our collection in store and we'll wax lyrical about Shetland (and other things…)

See you soon,
JP

Caspian, Otter & Mustard Shetland Crew Neck Jumpers

All the details...

Each piece in our Shetland collection is 100% wool and proudly made in Scotland.

You'll find familiar favourites like

  • Caspian – a cool blue with a crisp, classic look
  • Otter – a rich, earthy brown that pairs beautifully with denim or tweed
  • Mustard – my personal pick for autumn, with just the right pop of colour

We use the same Shetland quality across the range, whether it's a simple crew neck or a cable knit. The yarn naturally traps air, making the jumpers breathable and surprisingly warm for their weight. And unlike smoother wools, Shetland develops more character the more you wear it—like a favourite pair of jeans or boots.

Shetland jumpers layer perfectly under a jacket or coat, or simply worn over a shirt with some brushed cotton chinos or jeans.

Shetland wool isn't about gloss or perfection. It's about warmth, familiarity, texture, and a sense of place. Each jumper carries with it centuries of Scottish craftsmanship, from the spinning frames of Aberdeenshire to the knitting mills of Hawick.

And just like a perennial you plant once and enjoy season after season, a good Shetland jumper is the sort of piece that rewards a little attention and lasts for years to come…

A note on seasonal sales…

We don't participate in Black Friday or other fast fashion seasonal sales. The reason is that we believe strongly in investing in items for your wardrobe for the long term. We don't do fads - our collections are forever classics and are thoughtfully designed and created with the best possible raw materials with makers that also share our commitment to sustainability. This means we can consistently and authentically deliver the very best quality clothing at reasonable prices throughout the year and you can be assured you can purchase in plenty of time for the season and know we won't be marking down later on.

Instead of seasonal sales, we opt for an Archive Sale once or perhaps twice a year, where we present a very select few items at gentler prices for the lines we are phasing out.

Another reason why as customers, your loyalty and understanding of our values means everything.
