A New Season
A New Season
It’s been an unusually warm start to the season, but the fresh mornings and turning leaves hint that autumn will soon arrive in all her splendour. With busy months ahead, we’ll be in full winter swing before we know it. And the key to enjoying winter? Being warm and comfortable, whatever the day brings.
It’s been over a year since we opened our second store in Stow-on-the-Wold, yet in many ways we feel as though we’ve been in the Cotswolds much longer. This marriage of town and country suits us – our stores, our customers and, of course, my family too. While there are subtle differences in what we offer and what proves most popular in each store, it’s surprising just how similar our customers’ preferences are. I suppose, in our post-pandemic world, there is a little town and country in us all. That is reflected in how we dress – a blend of smart, casual, comfort and style that blurs the edges of work and play, weekday and weekend.
What remains paramount to me is that, however much we grow, we maintain our commitment to impeccable customer service, both in store and online. That personal connection is at the heart of what we do. And having two stores as well as full collections online mean we can quickly cater to needs, near and far.
Autumn and winter are key seasons for us at William Crabtree. From those early days of adding wool or cashmere knitwear over a rugby shirt, perhaps with a wool flannel gilet, to the depths of winter, when we reach for warm, soft layers and faithful favourites: brushed cotton shirting, wool jackets and colourful socks. There is something for every man to feel good in this season, with comfort and style going hand in hand.
A particular focus this season is our bouclé chore jacket, available in three very wearable colour ways. Especially good on these in-between days when a coat isn’t quite needed, it will be a dependable layering companion throughout winter. Our extensive Fair Isle range is also proving popular already – perhaps thanks to The Gentlemen? And the chukka boot we designed in collaboration with Tricker’s more than earns its place in the wardrobe, delivering on quality, longevity and versatility. We’ll be wearing ours all season.
Our Shetland Store is open, too: a store-within-a-store celebrating the warmth and character of Shetland wool, with a variety of knitwear to see you through the colder months.
I hope you’ll come and see us in store soon. As always, please do get in touch with any questions or suggestions – we love hearing from you. So many of our customers have become friends, and we’re very grateful to you for being part of the William Crabtree story.
See you soon,
