A Fairisle Friday

A Fair(isle) Friday...
When the leaves start turning as Autumn descends, our attention turns to Fairisle -a nod to classic comfort and cosy season, the traditional colours echoing golden autumnal hues. Fairise knits carry a wide arry of seasonal colours that are given a richness and depth brought to life by the beautifully tactile Shetland wool.
Our fairisies are knitted by the original and, in our opinion, the best - Jamiesons in the Shetand Isles. This scason we have created four new Slipovers (essential for layering), a waistcoat and a long sleeved Crewneck Sweater.
We love to pair Fairsiles with an Oxford Button Down Shirt and if it's chilly, a Gilet over the top for the Autumn months. So warm and so comfortable, you'll not want to part with your fairisie friends until the Spring...
As always, it you see something you like, don't delay as these are small-ish, thoughtfully created batches that tend to go quite quickly.
Have a great weekend.

Fairisle Friends to layer this Autumn…
The trick is in the layering, a mix of materials and shapes and a pop of unexpected colour (in this case the red socks). Great paired with an Oxford Shirt and a Gilet or Jacket. I also like them layered with the Japanese Denim Shirt for a more modern look.
Here I am, very comfortable indeed, near our store in Marylebone, London in:
Jacket: Cotton Lowgill in Navy
Fairisle: Fawn Lovat and Rust Slipover
Shirt: Burgundy Ticking Stripe Oxford Semi-Spread Shirt
Socks: Navy / Red Cotton 2 Colour Stripe Socks
Shoes: Paraboot Avignon Gringo Waxed
Right: in the Navy Trim Fairisle Slipover under the Cotton Lowgill in Navy.
